CONAPESCA Infographic
Design Challenge
Create an engaging and educational infographic that highlights the oceanic biodiversity of Baja California in a way that is both visually appealing and informative for a wide audience, including students, tourists, and conservation advocates. The goal is to raise awareness about key marine species found in the region and encourage appreciation and protection of this unique ecosystem, while also incorporating accurate scientific data in a digestible format.
Deliverables
11 x 17 infographic
1920 x 1080 animation
Solution
The final infographic uses a bold, clear layout centered around a stylized map of Baja California, with key marine species illustrated and labeled around their geographic habitats. Each fish is colorfully rendered to attract attention, with accompanying data boxes providing average size, weight, and lifespan—balancing scientific facts with visual storytelling. The header, “Baja’s Blue Wilderness,” sets a tone of exploration, while the subheading clearly identifies the educational theme. By organizing the species spatially along the coast and including scientific names, the design caters to both casual viewers and those seeking educational value. The use of a clean blue ocean background and consistent font hierarchy ensures readability, and the CONAPESCA logo anchors the infographic with institutional credibility.
